School Picture Days - Next Week Thu & Fri

School Picture Days are coming!

TK-3rd grade will have their pictures taken on Thursday, September 8.

4th-8th grade will have their pictures taken on Friday, September 9.

Students do not have to wear uniforms on their picture day, but all clothing must be appropriate for school.

TONIGHT! - Back to School Night

Join us for Back-to-School Night TONIGHT (Thu 8/25)!

Everyone will be able to hear from Principal Gilbert & those with students in 1st-8th grades will have an opportunity to visit classrooms and meet teachers.

Each classroom session will be the same to allow you to visit multiple classrooms and teachers if needed.

Come to the cafeteria at 4:30PM to hang out with the PTA, meet others, and enjoy fun activities. A limited supply of Northrup shirts will be available for sale. These shirts can be worn as school uniforms. Please bring cash if you wish to buy shirts.

Join Northrup PTA - Become a Member Today!

Support our school by joining the Northrup PTA!

Joining is EASY and doesn't require that you do any volunteering during the school year.

You can sign-up online via the Totem website ($10 dues + $1 convenience fee - https://jointotem.com/ca/alhambra/wm-northrup-parent-teacher-association-inc/join/register) or by completing & submitting a membership envelope ($10 dues) to your student's teacher. Extra envelopes will be available in the school office.

Membership dues go toward keeping the PTA running (e.g., Our own dues to the regional & national PTA organizations, insurance, etc.).

PLUS, classes with the highest percentage of memberships will win a class pizza party AND their teachers will get a $30 classroom gift! (Sign up by Tue 9/6 to be eligible for the class competition)

Friendly Reminder - Test At-Home Today

Friendly reminder to complete at-home COVID-19 rapid testing today (Sun 8/14).

If your student has a POSITIVE test result, please keep them home and report their result to the school by phone or email. See the Northrup School website https://www.northrupelementary.us/ for phone number.

Negative test results do not need to be reported at this time.

There were 2 tests included in the box. Your student only needs to complete 1 test. SAVE the second test for the future. The school will probably ask your student to use the 2nd test in the future.

Friendly reminder to read through the "2022-23 Welcome Back Newsletter" which was sent on July 25th. It's full of helpful information (swipe to see some key topics) that will get you ready for the new year! 

An updated school supply list has been posted here: https://bit.ly/3zG1BSq  But you may still want to check-in with your child's teacher to see if their list is correct.

If you didn't get the newsletter, check your PowerSchool Parent Portal account to be sure the school has your current information.

To promote privacy & safety, we won't be posting the information directly to our social media accounts. But check-in with the school office to request a re-send of the information if needed.

Also, friendly reminder that the first day of school is a Minimum Day!
