Thank you for your donations! We've been sorting through the boxes and have found treasures for readers of all ages! 

There are even books in Chinese, Japanese & Spanish.

Nothing is priced over $2!

Now is the perfect time to pick-up books for the whole family. Spring Break is right around the corner -- what better way to get away than to jump into a book!

Today's the Day!

Bring your In-N-Out Cookout Fundraiser tickets to Northrup's South Parking Lot tonight from 5:00-7:00 PM.

Each ticket is good for a sandwich (hamburger/cheeseburger/grilled cheese), chips, and a drink. Sandwiches will be served with lettuce, tomato & spread (sorry, no onions). They can also be ordered plain. To keep lines moving, no special customization is allowed (like "Animal Style" without onions).

Support the Gladiator Store - Different ways to help!

The Gladiator GLAD Store is coming to Northrup this week! The GLAD Store rewards students for their efforts to R.I.S.E. (Respect Individuals, Students & staff, and Environment). Students earn GLAD Bucks when they're caught being respectful, kind, courteous, and showing the Northrup Gladiator spirit. These Bucks can be redeemed at our new GLAD Store for rewards.

Your help is needed to help the store succeed in encouraging and rewarding student efforts. There are a number of different ways to help -- don't feel obligated to do it all! We appreciate any support you might be able to provide. Here are some ways to help:

• Volunteer to help students in the GLAD Shop https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0e4daaaf28a3f5c52-glad  - Help set-up and/or staff the GLAD store so students can shop. TK-2nd grade students also sometimes need help as they shop. Sign-up for a 60-90 minute shift. GLAD Store will be open on Tue 3/22 and Thu 3/24 between 7:30 AM - 2:45 PM. Please reach out if you want to know when a specific grade level will be visiting the store.

• Order Gladiator R.I.S.E. shirts - Shirts are $15 and can be used as uniform attire. The sale has been extended, so order one (or more!) today! Order form is included below. Payment can be made by cash or check made out to "Northrup School"

• Donate items to keep the store stocked: Store wish list is available at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oz7aq7ESMhjPWYaoIvdiapUsQ839j2rt_UQJNYw7ohY/edit   - Label donations with the number of items and grade level. Donations can be dropped off at the school office.

The In-N-Out Truck is coming to Northrup on March 23rd for a PTA fundraiser. Tickets are $5 and can be redeemed for a burger, chips, and a drink. 

Tickets will be sold Monday - Wed mornings (3/14-3/16) in front of the auditorium on Atlantic. Tickets are selling fast! We will likely sell out on Monday 3/14, so try to come early!

PTA Used Book Drive & Sale

Northrup PTA is hosting a Used Book Sale!

Is your student looking for something new to read? Have they already read through the bookshelf at home? 

Gather up new or gently used books that aren't being read at home and donate them to the school sale. Then stop by the Used Book sale at the In-N-Out Fundraiser on March 23rd to pick-up something new (to them) to read! 

Our goal is to help kids find books & encourage reading, so books will be sold at a discount with no book costing over $3. Any unsold books will be donated to the school library, classrooms, or charity.

Books can be dropped off at donation boxes at school. The donation box outside the Front Office will be available for donations all day while the Curtis Gate donation box will be available at afternoon pick-up.

That's right, the In-N-Out Truck is coming to Northrup School!!! Mark your calendars for Wednesday, March 23rd from 5:00-7:00 PM.

Meal tickets -- good for a world-famous burger, chips, and a drink -- will be sold for $5 in the mornings in front of the auditorium on Atlantic this Fri (3/11) and Mon-Wed of next week (3/14-16).

Keep these tickets safe, since lost tickets cannot be replaced. They can be redeemed at the In-N-Out Truck at Northrup on Wednesday March 23rd. Look for the truck in the South Parking Lot off of Atlantic.

Volunteer at Northrup -- How to Get Cleared for On-Campus Opportunities

Northrup School & the Northrup PTA need your help!

Improvements in COVID-19 rates have allowed the District to relax restrictions and welcome volunteers back to campus!! Hooray!

To ensure the well-being and safety of all our students, volunteers must submit to the Front Office:

• A completed volunteer form      (https://ausd.edliotest.com/AUSD-VolunteerSiteRegistrationFormRevised%202020%20Fillable.pdf or available at the Front Office)
• Photo Identification  (e.g., Driver's License, State ID, etc.)
• Proof of TB testing  (valid for 3 years from testing date)
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
• Fingerprinting/background check  (If a first-time volunteer with AUSD)

Parents must register with Northrup each year to keep their volunteer status updated. Those who had completed their fingerprinting/background check and were active in the 2019-2020 school year (pre-COVID) will not need to re-do their background checks. This includes those whose students transferred from Marguerita.

Please keep in mind that you must register with Northrup in order to stay active and avoid having to do fingerprinting in the future. 

We have heard that many parents are looking for ways to get involved -- especially since the campus is otherwise closed to parents. The PTA will soon be looking for help with some exciting upcoming events and volunteer opportunities on campus. Please complete your District volunteer registrations to be eligible to participate on-campus.

P.S. We may also have non-on-campus volunteer opportunities. But it's always more fun to be on-campus and with the students!
